PRINCE ALBERT

THINGS TO DO

Prince Albert and the district offer a wide range of activities and things to see. You will find a file telling you more in the cottage and here is a sample of some of the attractions:

Bijlia cana - this  mesembryanthemum is unique to the Prince Albert district and grows on Gordon's Kopje. It was discovered by Dorothy van der Bijl on a local farm.                                           Photograph  ~ Reinwald Dedekind

You might like a wander round the local Museum, art galleries, weavery and various curio and craft shops.

Not many villages have a story teller to bring their history and characters to life. Give Ailsa a ring to make a booking for her popular Ghost Walk - a light-hearted evening stroll, a day walk or a pre-dinner story telling session 023 5411 211.

Taste local cheeses at the dairy and visit nearby farms to see how they process figs and olives.

Aromatherapy and other relaxing treatments are available at a wellness centre in the village.

The Karoo, with its vast spaces and crystal clear air is an artist's delight. Our garden offers subjects for botanical and landscape artists.

There are fossils and Bushman paintings on nearby farms and you can take scenic drives through the Swartberg and the Karoo.
