AMY’S
offers everything one would expect from traditional
Karoo
hospitality and comfort. Specially designed to cater for 6 guests, AMY’S
offers home-from-home comforts in spacious open-plan living, and
large, over-sized rooms. In typical Victorian-style architecture, the
ceilings are high: the corridors wide. The décor is an interesting mix of
new, antiques and customised furniture, and the lovely sash windows frame
beautiful views.

AMY’S

There is a television and electrical appliances comprise a 4-plate stove with warmer; microwave;
fridge-freezer; dishwasher and washing machine. The holiday chef will find a Kenwood Chef mixer with
liquidiser and juice-extractor attachments; an electric hand beater to
whip up a quick omelette; an electric frying pan for one-pot cooking;
and an electric carving knife to do justice to the Sunday roast! |

It
has been our experience that guests, choosing the self-catering option,
wish to do just that – self cater. Breakfast
provisions of fruit/juice, muesli and cereal, rusks, tea, coffee, milk and sugar are
provided for the convenience of guests.
Leading off the kitchen is a
separate scullery/laundry. In the broom cupboard will be found a vacuum
cleaner; broom; ironing board and iron; as well as a fire extinguisher
(just in case the oil boils over!). However, should you wish to have AMY’S
serviced during your stay, please request this at the time of booking. A
laundry service, for the convenience of guests, is provided during
weekdays. |

Spectacular
is the only word that adequately describes the 360 degree views from the
thatched gazebo: an amazing panorama stretching from the majestic
Swartberg Mountains
to the Karoo Plains. This is a lovely vantage point from which to enjoy
the delightful vista of the Prince Albert
houses, so beautifully preserved, and the stunning church steeple proudly
rising above. Seating is provided at the gazebo for guests wishing to
tarry awhile, enjoying moments of quiet reflection (or simply sipping
sundowners while marvelling at the spectacular sunset).
|
|
The
village is within walking distance and it is quite
safe to wander down to a restaurant or around the village in the evenings.
Prince Albert holds several
festivals: the Olive Food and Wine Festival in April, the Oktoberfest in October
and the Harvest Festival in November.
